About the Photographer
Mel Haynes Jr has been an artist his whole life. His life has been defined by art through various mediums from the earliest days of his childhood. His introduction to photography started in his childhood when his father brought the black and white development process to their home. The smells of fix and developer are still strongly implanted in his head as well as the dark red lights that made up the makeshift darkroom. Later in life he was introduced into photography through a gift of classes at the Denver Darkroom. It was there that he realized he could release the ideas and images in his mind. Through various classes and networking he began apprenticing under Daniel Kane, where the gruels of real world photography was beaten into him. Through the successes and failures of bettering his craft, Haynes triumphed and with it, a sense of confidence and pride that is shown in his work and relationships with his clients.
